We arrived home on Friday 6 Jan 2017 to weather we were not expecting. The temperature was 22 F at 2pm in the afternoon. This was cold for San Antonio.
On Saturday 7 Jan the temperature was 33 F.
It was good that the weather started to warm up as we were off to Bandera which is in the Texas Hill County about an hours drive from San Antonio. We were meeting with an old Army mate of Ross's whom he had not seen for 26 years. We met at the 11 St Cowboy Bar, Bandera.
It is an interesting bar to say the least. The story goes that if your girlfriend takes her bra off you get a free tee shirt and a beer. Looking at the number of bras in the place there have been many who were prepared to disrobe.
However, it s a large area so we opted for outside with the fire.
Here is us having the happy snap moment. Denis and his wife Annette were visiting from Australia. Ross and Denis served together in 1971 in Townsville. We had a great time catching up on old times and all that has gone on in between.
On the way home we stopped off at Tue Steppes, the Italian Restaurant close to home for a pizza.
Albert's dog Eevee always likes to spend some time with us and makes herself at home.
