Australian Visit 2014 - Pt.1

It had been 3 years since Beverley had been back to Australia and only 6 months since Ross' last trip.  So it was a wonderful opportunity to spend some time with our very dear friends.  This is part of our Jerra gang.  The reason for the name is we all live in Jerrabomberra, New South Wales and John, Debbie and Ric are very special friends to us.  Weekly we used to frequent the Jerra Fine Asian Cusine Restaurant located at the Jerra Shopping center and so it was just like old time sharing a great meal with wonderful friends.

As you can see the food is fabulous and goes well with a good Australia red.

We also took the opportunity to visit with friends who live in Bathurst and travelled there via Cowra ( both great country towns on the central slopes and plains of NSW)

Cowra is a typical Australian country town with great pubs and wide streets.

Between Bathurst and Cowra is a small town called Mandurama which host a typical Australian early 1900's pub.

Bathurst itself is dotted with grand homes.

We enjoyed a great eveing with Peter, Jenny and Saha the much love pooch.  Ross and Peter are very old school chums and have known each other since early primary school.  Jenny is a very good cook and artist and we have packed in amongst our stored furniture back in Australia a portrait of us both painted and gifted to us by Jenny.

It is winter is Australia however the countryside remains lush so lots of good food for the many cattle and sheep who graze in these areas.

The Australia Gum tree is everywhere one looks.

It was so nice to return to the place where Ross grew up and to spend time with Pete and Jenny in Bathurst and in Canberra with our dear Jerra gang.

We have some more shots to post in Pt.2

Cheers Ross and Bev

Vale - Lindy Muir

It is with great sadness that we write this blog as Ross' sister Lindy passed away on 2 June 2012 following a heroic fight over many years with illness.  She underwent a bone marrow transplant 3 years ago which allowed and her and her wonderful family to enjoy some quality times together. She had a very large funeral with many family and friends in attendance.  It was conducted by bishop Pat Power who had known Lindy, David and their family since 1968.  Lindy and David's children, Karen, Matthew, Lisa and Bradley provided a very touching Eulogy, with information provided by her much loved husband David, her sister Toni and brothers Ross and Neil.

David and Lindy had been married for 43 years and David was always there for Lindy throughout all of these years.  He spent countless hours sitting with Lindy at the hospital as did their children.  Lindy and David love their children and they are a very close family.

Following the funeral we were able to spend some time with Ross' sister Toni and brother Neil as well as cousins John and Lesley and a very old friend of Ross,  Pat Carroll.

We will always remember the warm smile of our dear Lindy and the dignity she showed throughout her illness, never complaining and always thinking of others.

Lindy you remain in out thoughts and prayers as does the family.  May you rest peacefully with our Lord.
