Day 2 in Yellowstone was just as amazing as yesterday. We traveled another route which took us North of where we were yesterday. Once again we delighted in the every changing countryside.
We saw a greater mixture of wildlife on this visit. As usual there were the Bison and this group held us up along with many other visitors for some 30 minutes while they decided to cross the road.
We were fortunate to see Elk, Mule Deer, Coyote, baby Moose, Rabbit, Osprey, Green-Winged Teal, Trumpeter Swans, Deer and a Lesser Scaup. Unfortunately, we were not quick enough with our camera to get a snap but we did get a shot of this Black Bear cub. This little fellow really made our day. The only other black Bear we have seen up much closer than this fellow was when we lived in Canada.
Here the Park Ranger is directing traffic in preparation for the the cub to cross the road. Well we all sat there and the cub ignored us all and disappeared into the forest.
Tonight we are staying in West Yellowstone which is a town in Gallatin County, Montana, adjacent to Yellowstone National Park and is a good place to stay while traveling through Yellowstone National Park.
Tomorrow we travel to Billings, Montana.
