Grand Forks - North Dakota

We arrived in Grand Forks, North Dakota yesterday.  North Dakota is in the upper region of the USA and is bordered by the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba to the North, Minnesota to the East, South Dakota to the South, and Montana to the West.  Bismark is the capital.  Today we whet exploring and crossed the Red River into Minnesota to have lunch.  The Red River flooded in 1997 which resulted in $500 million in damages.  This flood stimulated improvements to flood protection systems.
Here is a view from the restaurant where we enjoyed lunch.   This side of the bridge is Minnesota looking back over the bridge to North Dakota.

 This is another pretty town.

 With flowers everywhere.

We enjoyed a most pleasant lunch at the Boardwalk Bar and Grill.

We returned via the bridge and flood wall into North Dakota.

Here you can see the bridge from this side.

It was raining so we missed out on visiting the farmers market.

Here they are packing up to leave.

However, the blue boy was going to enjoy his day.

Cheers,

Beverley and Ross
