Twin Falls will be our last stop in Idaho before traveling on to Utah. It is a pretty city with a population of some 50,000 people and for its size it has amazing number of facities, restaurants, big stores etc. It also provides many things for tourists to enjoy. Our first excurison was to visit the Twin Falls which are located at Twin Falls Gorge. The Perrine Memorial Bridge covers spans the Snake River Canyon on the northern edge of Twin Falls. The bridge is 1,500 feet long and offers a pedestrian walkway with view of the river, lakes and waterfalls. BASE jumpers can enjoy the Bridge year round as a launching point for parachuting to the caynon floor below. Apart from this the Bridge is known for its minimalist construction and height.
The Gorge is beautiful.
They have a great Visitors Center which provides a background of what made Twin Falls. Part of that history has a wagon from the 1800's.
With stories of second lives for such wagons.
Idaho is know for its potatoes. These are the chocolate version.
This statue is of Ira Burton Perrine 7 May 1861 - 2 Oct 1943. He was an early settler to Twin Falls. He was a visonary and his planning and dedication led to Twin Falls taking it from a desert outpost to a flourishing city.
