We visited Edgefield House which is now a homely hotel set on 74 acres. In its previous life it had been a farm, and a sanatorium among many other things. In 1985 the McMenamin brothers who grew up in the area purchased the property turning it into a winery, distillery and introduced the concept of farm to table dining. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy great food in pleasant surroundings. There's a par 3, 9 hole golf greens where visitors can play a round of golf. There are beautiful gardens throughout the property and vegetable gardens where they draw some of their produce used in their restaurants. Throughout the property are acres of fruit trees.

There are several places to eat and we decided on the Black Restaurant and Bar.
The food was delicious. Ross had the tuna tartare.
Beverley decided an antpasto plate.
There are serveral artisans who are happy to display their creativity. We watched this very skilled woman craft a beautiful vase.
