Halifax, Nova Scotia. July 2011

 Hello to all. We have been on the road again.  From 6 -13 July we travelled to Newfoundland.  This was our second trip to what the folks in Canada refer to as The Rock.  This time our trip took us to the east coast.  We did a fly drive holiday which began with us taking this Jumbo Jet to Halifax.

We overnighted in Halifax and took the opportunity to have a good look around the city.  There are many places to eat in this city and the photo below   

is just one example of the variety of eating establishments.

Halifax is a major Navy Base and the largest sea port on the Canadian eastern coast and was this was also where the survivors of the Titanic were brought after its tragic sinking.  The docks area provides many opportunities to learn much about the early days of  this city and the photo below was taken at local wooden boat building area and you will see an example of a grand old sailing ship (now a tourist cruise) sailing past the window.

Halifax has much to offer the vistor and it is a very easy walk around.

Our next update will show some of the great areas of eastern Newfoundland.
