Fort Stockton 2

Across the road from the Annie Rigg's Museum is located the Grey Mule Saloon which has been part of old Fort Stockon.  It was built in the 1880's as a hangout for cowboys and hotel guests.  It was later a store and post office and is now a wine bar.

We enjoyed a tasty cheese board accompained by a couple of Texas reds.  Over the many years of visiting and living in Texas we can confirm their wines are improving however, we still prefer Australian reds.

This was one of the reds we tried.

The tasting room is very pleasant and has a great variety of olive oils and vinegars.

We  could not resist purchasing and olive oil and a balsalmic vinegar.

As they say in Texas " Welcome to the Lone Star State"

Cheers,
Ross and Beverley
