St Thomas is one of four Islands within the US Virgin Island's group. It has a population of some 55,000 and its main source of income is tourism. Most of their food and supplies are imported so compared to SAT, TX it is rather an expensive place to visit. The folks here are passionate about their chilly based sauces and the people appear very happy and friendly.
We stayed at the Windward Passage Hotel and enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the place.
For breakfast/brunch we walked about 2 blocks from the hotel and ate at the Petite Pump Room where we met Mary a very happy and helpful woman and enjoyed the view below from the deck.
Over the road from the Hotel we saw the Texas BBQ which it turns out is owned by a Texan and his Australian wife. We did not bother to try this out as there much more interesting foods to enjoy.
This fruit stand below sadly has very little local produce from St Thomas as its mostly imported. However, it is all good.
For the modest sum of $40 for the 4 of us we did the Island Tour. The mode of transport can be seen below.
The view on the way to to the very top of the Island provides some magnificent views.
There are many million dollar homes to be seen. All building supplies are freighted in from mostly Florida and many of the homes located on the side of hills have one level they rent out to tourists and this is how they provide their income.
Our tour bus took us to the very top of the Island to the home of the World Famous Banana Daiquiri.

This is inside the store and whilst they show the flags of many nations we did not see the Australian flag but we did see the NZ flag.
As you depart the store you can call into Caribbean Pirate Bar.
The views are spectacular and this was just the beginning of our trip
