Virginia Beach

Our trip to Virginia Beach, which is a coastal city in southeastern Virginia.  It lies where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean.  It has a 3-mile boardwalk which stretches along its beach-lined oceanfront. The bayside First Landing State Park marks the 1607 arrival of the Jamestown colonists from England. There is lots to see and do such as the  Virginia Aquarium; Marine Science Center exhibits ocean life including sharks, rays and sea turtles in globally themed habitats.  Before going to the beach we took a look around the government buildings that support the State.

The buildings are very impressive.

From here we visited The Virginia Beach Oceanfront which is an amazing place where the Atlantic Ocean and the shores of Virginia Beach meet. The three mile resort area is where sand, surf, and sun collide for your vacationing pleasure. It is a coastal community which hosts a number of restaurants and entertainment for all ages.

The 3 mile boardwalk.

We were delighted to be visiting at this time of the year as there were few people around.  When school is out you cannot move so we were informed.

Cheers,

Beverley and Ross
