Lusk - Wyoming
The town of Lusk was named after Frank Lusk who was a rancher and railroad man who donated the land on which this town was built. Luck was born in Buffalo, New York in 1857 and came west in 1876, first to Colorado and moving to Wyoming.
The first house built by Lusk was a cabin built in 1886 for Frank Lusk and his family. It was later replaced by the two story brick house below which was considered very modern for those times. In the 1930's the home became a mortuary and is used as such ever since this time.
The Stagecoach Museum was opened on May 15, 1970 and they have a huge collection of relics and displays.

The Lusk Free Lance is the oldest building in Lusk. The building orginally was located in the town site of Silver Cliff and was known as the Big Iron Clad. The log part of the building was from the Rawhide Buttes Stage Station. It was moved to Lusk and one of two newspapers in Lusk and was later sold to the Lusk Herald newspaper.

This is one of the only 2 remaining original Stage Coaches. Not a very comfortable ride.

The Physician's buggy.
There are some stately Governments buildings.
This is the original jail which was built in 1913. The Sheriff used to live on the second floor of the building, right above the jail.
The Niobrara County Library was completed in 1919. It started off as a reading room and books were borrowed from surrounding Counties. When borrowing of books could not continued the community stated to contribute to the Library.
Lusk is a very pleasant town to visit .
