After a 9 day drive we finally arrived in San Antonio and it was so good to meet up with our Texas family once again. Very early after arriving we had the good fortune to meet with Dr Adam Rutner and his lovely wife Varder and his charming mother Joan. Adam and his family have established a non profit organisation which assists persons to navigate the very complex American health system. Adam is also a keen pilot who took us to a Texas BBQ lunch at Lockhart TX in his Beechcraft Bonanza
It was interesting to see San Antonio from this altitude.
The BBQ at Smithy's was outstanding.
And the flight back was just as interesting.
A few days after arriving to stay with Dennis he and Lizzy, Sean and the grandchildren flew to Boston to receive a posthumous award for Maureen as the researcher of the year from the Nurse Anaesthetist Association. We stayed at home a baby sat the fish along with the two great dogs, Buddy and Savannah.
