Memphis Pt 2

On our second day in Memphis we visited Sun Studios where Elvis recorded his first record.  There are obviously many opportunities when in Memphis to emerse onself in the Elvis era.

The central area of Beale Street takes on a different persona once night fall comes.  On come the lights and street performers take over the closed off street. 

Outdoor music adds a canaval atmosphere to the area.

The food served in Beale Street includes delicious etouffee and gumbo.



We also had the opportunity to finally meet Oscar and Wanda Little who were our landlords when we lived at Beaver Dam.  While we had spoken on many occassions over the 2 1/2 years we lived in their lovely home this was the first time were had to meet.  Oscar and Wanda made us most welcome and we were treated to Wanda's delicious cod chowder, followed by her great array of home made cakes. 

 

After leaving Arkansas we continued on our way to Texas.
