Montreal Visit Part 1

We spent 3 great days in Montreal which is a lovely city with many grand historic buidlings.

The old part of Montreal which is located adjacent to the docks area lends itself to sighseeing by horse drawn transport.  We decided to try this mode of travel and this was provided by Willie the horse and his handler.  Throughout this very old part of the city the roads are all cobble stone so the trip was conducted in a very leisurely manner to save the hoofs of Willie.

Throughout the old city there are opportunities to enjoy interesting styles of architecture.

The city is very old and the restuarant below has been around a while.

Old Montreal lends itself to wandering around, which we did and spent some time snapping some of the buldings in this area.  There are lots of churches in this part of the city and this photo is just one example.

After a morning of walking it was time for lunch so on the advice of one of our friends we dined at Eggspectation.  The crepes are the largest we had ever seen.

More to follow on this great city.

Best wishes to all,

Ross and Bev
